Our first fundraiser for the Dartmouth General Hospital (DGH) turned into a day defining what living in a caring community is all about.
On Friday, Acadia Broadcasting and the DGH foundation teamed up for our inaugural Radiothon to help raise money for much needed equipment to support residents of HRM when they need it most.
In total, $173,000 was donated by local businesses, residents and people from near and far who recognize the importance of our health care system.

The original goal was $120,000.
Every dollar raised will go directly to improving patient care and health care services at home.

Foundation CEO Stephen Harding tell us, it is inspiring to see the level of community donors and support.
“Just want to say how thankful for this stellar community. It is like the Carrie Underwood song ‘Something in the Water’….there must be something in the water in Halifax and Dartmouth, people are so generous and we are so appreciative,” said Harding in an interview.
