A 24-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a Transit Bus in downtown Halifax.
Police say it was just before 7 a.m. Thursday morning on the corner of South Park Street and Spring Garden Rd, when the pedestrian was it.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was closed for a period of time but has now been reopened.
In a statement to our newsroom, Patricio Garcio, President of the Amalgamated Transit Union 508 says, “In light of the sensitive nature of the matter, I regret to inform you that I will refrain from making any further comments.”
The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with video from the area or information about this incident to contact them at 902-490-5020 or calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
