A gas leak on Almon Street in Halifax has been contained.
According to a post from Eastward Energy on X, they shut off the damaged line and there is no longer a release of gas.

Police had shut down various streets in the South, North and West ends and asked public to stay away from the area.

Meanwhile…Nova Scotia Power says there was an emergency power outage affecting customers near Quinpool Rd, the South End and parts of the North and West Ends.
The utility says it came from a request from Halifax Fire due to public safety.
According to Nova Scotia Powers’ website, power has been restored after nearly 5,000 were in the dark.
