It’s just about time to make a permanent switch to the MACPASS sticker, if you haven’t already.
Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) says they are retiring the hard-shell as they continue to upgrade their tolling system.
HHB made the announcement in the spring to give lots of time to make the change.
The MACPASS was introduced 25 years ago.
CEO Tony Wright says that’s when flip phones were a ‘hot technology’ and mp3’s were on the rise.
The sticker has only been around since 2021 for all new customers and HHB says they not only read better but are more compatible with new e-tolling options.
The hard-shell is set to expire Tuesday.
