Three people are facing charges in a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon in downtown Halifax.
Police say it happened around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Buddy Daye Street and Gottingen Street, but no one was reported injured.
The three suspects drove away in a vehicle before officers arrived at the scene, according to a social media post from Halifax Regional Police.
At about 10 p.m., officers, crisis negotiators and a K9 team used a warrant to search a home in the 3400 block of Barrington Street. They arrested three people who lived there and seized a gun.
A 46-year-old woman, a 17-year-old youth, and a 20-year-old face charges for:
- possessing a loaded prohibited or restricted gun
- unauthorized possession of a gun
- unsafely storing a gun
The 20-year-old faces additional charges of:
- shooting a gun with intent
- using a gun for a crime
- pointing a gun
- possessing a gun knowing its possession is illegal
- possessing a gun in a vehicle
- possessing a weapon dangerous to public peace
