A somber gathering in Pictou County Wednesday evening as dozens gathered for a candlelight vigil to mark nearly six months since two young children vanished from Lansdowne Station.
Jack and Lilly Sullivan reportedly wandered away from home May 2 – four and six years old at the time- Wednesday was Jack’s fifth birthday.
According to photos and videos on social media, music played during the vigil and stuffed animals were placed around a memorial for the brother and sister.
The case has not only made an impact in the community of Pictou County, but our province, country, and beyond.

When Jack and Lilly disappeared, it triggered a massive search, with the investigation continuing to this day involving several agencies including major crimes.
A recent search for the children involved cadaver dogs who did not find any human remains.
In addition to that, RCMP have reviewed over 8,000 videos, received more than 800 tips and interviewed more than 80 people; some with a polygraph, including those close to the children.
Although RCMP say they are not ruling anything out, the investigation is still a missing persons case.
An independent search through a non-profit organization is planned for this coming weekend.
