Halifax’s Myles Goodwyn has been reunited with his favourite guitar after 46 years!
A Mysterious note reunited the April Wine frontman with his stolen guitar – 46 years later.
Myles played a Gibson Melody Maker guitar on their hits like Bad Side of the Moon and You Could Have Been a Lady…Canadian Classics!
In 1972, he learned that a truck carrying the band’s equipment crashed in Montreal and the guitar was destroyed…, but… it wasn’t.
Flash forward to this Christmas Eve 2018, a man named Doug from Victoria, BC reached out to Myles on Facebook, saying he thought he had the cherished instrument. He was reunited with his favourite guitar back on Monday, New Year Eve when it arrived at his front door here Halifax.
I got to hang around with Myles at Christmas Daddies last month when he performed and donated one of his other 70’s guitars to the telethon. He’s a great guy and awesome to see him reunited with his “baby”…
Myles Goodwyn and April Wine started out in Waverly, Nova Scotia and the group is marking its 50th anniversary this year. They’ve sold over 20 million records making Nova Scotia proud!
Happy New Year Myles!
Below is a pic of me with Myles, along with Jim Henman and Bruce Dixon and the guitar he donated to Christmas Daddies.
