I’ve never met DIERKS BENTLEY’s mom . . . but I like her, because she enjoys taking him down a notch.
She calls him the Susan Lucci of awards shows . . . because he gets nominated a lot, and loses a lot.
So when he and BROTHERS OSBORNE took home the ACM Vocal Event of the Year for “Burning Man”, she thanked THEM for making it happen.
She told them so at a country music festival last weekend where Dierks and the Brothers were performing.
Here’s Dierks talking about it. Quote, “[She] said, ‘He doesn’t win anything on his own, but because of you guys, you helped him. You got him his first award.’”
Dierks has actually won several awards, but that’s not the point. It’s way funnier when someone who’s successful gets their chops busted by their own mom.
