The Halifax Wanderers FC won their first professional soccer game.
The debut of the Canadian Premiere League action was a hit as Halifax beat the Hamilton Forge 2-1 in front of 6,200 fans at the Wanderers Grounds in Halifax.
Fans came from all over the Maritimes to witness history in the making.
The weather was a bit damp, but the atmosphere was loud as # 11 Akeem Garcia scored Halifax’s first goooooooooooooooooal!
It was quite the match to kick off a new chapter for Halifax!
