Alecia’s new single You Rescued Me, has a profound message of unconditional love and loss. Learning to love with your whole heart and continuing to do so even after experiencing an immense loss can be difficult. Alecia was inspired to write You Rescued Me in 2018 after losing her French Bulldog Hank, who was her best friend. Alecia rescued Hank eight and a half years prior, and he in turn rescued her in many ways, namely her heart. “Little did I know that a year after adopting Hank my world would fall apart and Hank would be there to help me pick up the pieces and move on with my life, showing me unconditional love in the truest sense”.
You Rescued Me is relatable on many levels as unconditional love can be experienced in many forms. Cowritten and recorded in Nashville, You Rescued Me was released April 11, 2019 on National Pet Day. Alecia will be encouraging fans to submit pictures of their special dogs for her You Rescued Me music video which will be released on May 20, 2019 National Rescue Dog Day.
