Emily Alford of Lower Sackville who’s a 14-year-old with a love for dart throwing is in England to compete in an international tournament.
She was recently ranked 16th in the world at the World Cup of Darts in Romania! She says she plans to post a better ranking at the Winmau World Masters tournament, which begins today.
Emily says she started playing darts she was just seven years old and recalls having to ask others to remove her darts from the board after each turn because she wasn’t tall enough.
Her father, John Alford, says he and his wife Krista have been playing darts since they first starting dating. John says he has only one word to describe his daughter’s success: “Astounding.”
Emily says she’s aiming for the Top-10 at the upcoming tournament, hoping for at least Top 8.
I’ve known Emily since she was knee high to a grasshopper coming to the Halifax Mooseheads games with her folks, her mom Krista tells Emily she listened to me back in the 80’s when I had hair…
Good luck to Emily in England, we’re soooo proud of you from HOT Country 1035!
