1. MAREN MORRIS won the ACM for ‘New Female Vocalist of the Year’ recently. Remember, the ACM’s are this Sunday, but they announced some winners a couple weeks ago. 2. CARRIE UNDERWOOD performed at the Grand Ole Opry for the 100th time on Saturday. The first time was twelve years ago, in 2005, two weeks after winning “American Idol”. And she was inducted less than three years later. (Full Story)
3. In case you missed it, JOSH TURNER dedicated a song to a 76-year-old fan battling terminal cancer this past Thursday, at a show in Kansas City. He met with her at a meet-and-greet before the show, then talked about her during the concert, before playing her favorite song . . . “Long Black Train”. (Full Story)
4. BRAD PAISLEY Tweeted out a video from a show in Oklahoma last week. It’s an old couple near the front with grey hair, and the woman can’t stand on her own. So she sits while the guy stands and ‘dances’ with her, holding her hands.
It happened during the song “Today”, so Brad wrote, “I don’t know this older couple’s names, but wow, what a romance. So inspiring. The memory of a day like #today, indeed.”
