The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will provide 100,000 meals to those in need amidst the pandemic, thanks to Sidney Crosby.
The Pittsburgh Penguins captain made the donation, equivalent to 120,000 pounds of food, to the food bank back on Monday.
“I saw the people of Pittsburgh coming together to help one another and I wanted to be a part of that,”
Sid is known for his generosity off the ice.
Last December, he and CCM Hockey provided 87 sets of hockey equipment to players in need here in Nova Scotia.
In August 2018, the Cole Harbour native donated $50,000 to Nova Scotia’s Special Olympics.
Way to go Sid!
