Former Halifax Mooseheads defenceman Jocktan Chainey’s infant daughter is battling leukemia.
Ivy Chainey is only eight months old and Jocktan himself is still basically a kid at 20 years of age.
When former Mooseheads Captain BO Groulx heard about his former teammates daughter, he had to do something.
So BO reached out to former Mooseheads Samuel Asselin and Antoine Morand…. and called the Herd’s General Manager Cam Russell and assistant GM Allie MacDonald, and they decided to launch a fundraiser for Jocktan and Ivy.
BO says the first goal was to get $500 and in the first two hours they got $700 so they had to raise their goal and moved it to $1,700 and the last time we checked it was over $4,400.00.
BO says he and Samuel and Antione are also planning to shave their heads as a small gesture to remind their former teammate they are thinking about him and Ivy.
