Kamloops, British Columbia city council is working on a more permanent memorial to honour fallen Snowbirds Captain Jenn Casey of Halifax.
Many messages of condolence were left along the fence at the Kamloops airport, but those have been dismantled.
Observation Park at the end of runway 09-27 is the proposed location for the tribute, as part of the Airport Gateway Corridor project.
Mayor Ken Christian says there have been many requests from Kamloops and Brocklehurst residents to establish a Snowbirds memorial to replace the makeshift one.
The mayor met with the Minister of National Defence and the Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
He says they appreciated the outpouring of support they received from Kamloops and would welcome a permanent remembrance.
Jenn would be pretty thankful for this.
