Matthew White of Halifax has been running marathons for the Terry Fox Foundation the last several months, on Wednesday of this week, he ran his 39th marathon.
This Sunday, September 20th Matthew will run his 40th to mark the 40th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope!
Each marathon has been 42 kilometers or 26 miles just like what Terry did back in the day.
Matthew did his on local trails like the Salt Marsh and Shearwater Flyer Trails and began with his first marathon on January 4th of this year.
Terry Fox ran 143 marathons in a row during the Marathon of Hope in 1980, so Matthew is doing his part for the 40th anniversary as we all “try like Terry” this weekend and hold our own run, hike, walk or roll.
Nova Scotia man to run 40 marathons for Terry Fox Run’s 40th anniversary
On behalf of my son Trent who is a Wilm’s tumor children’s cancer survivor thanks for all you’ve done Matthew!
The weather for Sunday for the Terry Fox “Virtual Run” is sunny and 15.
