The 54th CMA Awards were handed out in Nashville with hosts Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker.
The COVID times show was socially/physically distanced with the stars six feet apart at their tables.
Some of the highlights for me were when Charley pride won the CMA Willie Nelson Award presented to him by Jimmie Allen, the two did a duet of Charley’s classic “Kiss An Angel Good Morning” – Charley Pride played here in Halifax many times over the years and loves our city, he’s 86 now and still going strong!
There were tributes to those we lost this year like Jason Aldean’s Charlie Daniels one with “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” – Jon Pardi’s to Joe Diffie and Little Big Town’s for Kenny Rogers who we lost on March 20th.
Old Dominion saluted the 40th anniversary of The urban cowboy soundtrack.
The big winner of the night was Maren Morris.
