Colten Ellis made QMJHL history with the most shutouts in the Q’s history with a 4 – 0 win over the Cape Breton Eagles Sunday.
The Charlottetown Islanders goalie who is from River Denys, Cape Breton broke the record in Sydney, ninety minutes from his home in front of his mom, dad, sister and brother to make it even sweeter!
The 20-year-old made 22 saves as it was his 18th career shutout, surpassing Philippe Cadorette’s mark set with Baie-Comeau and Shawinigan from 2012-16.
Colten was named the game’s First Star yesterday at Centre 200 where he grew up watching the Eagles play and recently signed a contract with the NHL’s St. Louis Blues.
Congrats Colten from Hot Country 1035!
