
A 26-year-old Halifax woman is facing charges in relation to an animal cruelty investigation.
The Nova Scotia SPCA says they received three complaints in total from incidents in the Halifax area, Truro and New Minas between July 6, 2020 and April 19, 2021.
The SPCA indicates four animals were rescued in their investigation.
Anna Yurkiw of Halifax was arrested and charged with two counts of permitting an animal to be in distress by abandonment and one count of causing an animal to be in distress.
She has been released on conditions including a ban on owning or being in the presence of animals.
Yurkiw is due in Halifax court next month.
