Leaders in Halifax are rallying behind the Muslim community after an attack in London, Ontario killed four people.
The MP for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour says it is a case where four people were murdered simply because they were Muslim.
Darren Fisher is reacting to the attack on Sunday night when five Muslim people out walking in London were deliberately run down by a man driving a pick-up truck.
In a Tweet, Fisher wrote he is horrified and heartbroken for the friends and loved ones of the family. He went on to say Islamophobia has no place in Canada.
Murdered simply because they were Muslim.
Words cannot express how horrified I am over the senseless attack in London.
I am heartbroken for the friends and loved ones of this family—for a 9-year-old child whose family was stolen from them.
Islamophobia has no place here.

The Ummah Masjid And Community Center in Halifax called it a terrorist attack and issued a statement on social media.
“This is nothing but a terrorist attack and we demand the government to prosecute the attacker of what he deserves. Every once in a while we morn another loss of Hate, Racism and Islamophobia,” the group wrote on Facebook. “We demand the government to use all measures to tackle these grave issues and to protect Canadians.”
Premier Iain Rankin stated that hate has no place in society and sent condolences to the family and the Muslim community.
This tragedy is heartbreaking. It is what hate looks like, here in Canada. Thoughts with all Muslim people who have seen it too often. Wishing strength to families, friends and community of the victims. And to the citizens of @CityofLdnOnt @ldnontmayor after this horror. https://t.co/0xsM8P1JsP
