Halifax Regional Police say a man has serious injuries following an assault with a weapon on Tuesday night.
Police were called to North Park Street, near Cornwallis Street, for a weapons complaint at around 7 p.m.
HRP says the man had been hit on the head with a pipe and was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening facial injuries.
By-standers restrained the 27-year-old male suspect until he could be arrested.
Traffic was briefly disrupted on North Park Street while the scene was processed.
Police say the two men know each other. The suspect is being held for court.
