A 45 year-old man is facing charges after a stabbing on Gottingen Street in Halifax.
Police responded to the call around 5:30 pm Saturday and a 56-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of what were believed to be life threatening injuries.
Brian Stanley Knowles was arrested near the scene not long after and has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon and failing to comply with a court order.
Investigators believe this was not a random incident.
