A 52-year-old woman has been charged after a home invasion in Lower Sackville last week.
The Mounties say when they arrived at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday a man was holding the woman down, and she had a knife in her hand.
Officers were able to grab the weapon and arrest her.
RCMP say the man was visiting a family member when the woman came in and tried to stab him.
Then at around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, investigators searched a residence in the community after learning the woman had firearms. They seized two handguns, ten long-guns, a crossbow, and ammunition.
Karen Joan Goyetche has been charged with assault with a weapon, break and enter and commit, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Goyetche has been released on conditions with an appearance scheduled at Dartmouth Provincial Court on August 31.
The investigation is ongoing.
