Two people are in custody after an armed home invasion led to a police chase.
RCMP say an unnamed pair, a 28-year-old man and 28-year-old woman from Halifax, broke into a Hatchet Lake home around 5:00 a.m. Saturday.
They say the suspects stole property and fled the scene in the victims’ vehicle.
Halifax Regional Police say officers found the truck near Spring Garden Road around 9:00 a.m.
Police say officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but it struck a curb, damaging the truck, and fled.
They say members found the vehicle moments later on the north end of Barrington Street.
The occupants abandoned the truck and fled into the woods near the foot of the MacKay Bridge.
They say both suspects were taken into custody in the Africville parking lot without incident.
Police blocked the north end of Barrington Street and had a significant presence in the area while searching for the suspects, dealing with the disabled truck, and investigating.
