Former Halifax Mooseheads star Alex Tanguay is now an Assistant Coach with the Detroit Red Wings!
Alex played for the Herd between 1996 and 1999 before starting a successful NHL career where he scored the game winning goal for the Colorado Avalanche in 2001.
I caught up with Alex at the 2019 Memorial Cup where he was a special guest for a puck drop, he said Halifax will always be close to his heart.
He’s one of a three Mooseheads to have his number 18 jersey number retired at the Scotiabank Centre here in Moose Country.
Picture above of Alex with Ian and his boys on the night in February 2005 when the Mooseheads retired his jersey.
Good luck in the next step of your NHL career Assistant Coach Tangs!
