Halifax Regional Police say officers responded after a 15-year-old was asked to get into a car by a stranger Tuesday.
They say the teen was walking in the area of Regent Road in Halifax near 8 p.m.
Police say a light gray hatchback with a roof rack followed the teen, and then the driver asked the teen to get into his vehicle several times.
They say the car was last seen turning onto Connaught Avenue.
The driver is described as 17 to 18-years-old with black hair, shaved on the sides with curls on top, and a nose ring.
Investigators say they are looking to speak with the driver.
