======================================================
The Halifax area is now under a severe thunderstorm watch.
Environment Canada issuing the advisory just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, for many parts of Nova Scotia, saying the conditions are just right for severe thunderstorms.
Those storms could also bring strong winds and heavy rain.
The national weather forecaster says a line of thunderstorms from Lunenburg County northeast to Prince Edward Island is resulting in heavy downpours above 25 mm/h along with gusty winds possible.
The line is moving slowly east.

Environment Canada reminds residents strong winds can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off of trees, and overturn large vehicles. Heavy downpours can also cause flash floods and water to pool on roads.
“Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year,” the advisory says. “Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!”
The advisory is issued when thunderstorms with the potential to bring large hail, damaging, and torrential rainfall are possible.
