Police are investigating three break-ins at businesses that happened overnight in the Halifax area.
Regional Police responded to the LA Convenience Store on Barrington Street just before midnight for a report that a man had been seen yelling and carrying a stick that looked like a broom handle.
Witnesses said he swung the stick around while yelling before smashing the store’s front door. Police say he also caused damaged to the business once he got inside.
Cigarettes, cash, and lottery tickets were taken. The suspect is described as a slim white man, standing 5’10”–6’, and between the ages of 35 and 40.
He was wearing a hoodie, dark pants, and a baseball cap.
Police say several cell phones were stolen from Geebo Device Repair on Gaston Road in Dartmouth. Officers responded to the scene at around 1:30 a.m. They say a woman was seen on store video breaking in and smashing a phone display case.
The third incident happened shortly before 4 a.m. Patrol officers were checking on businesses in downtown Halifax when they noticed the door to Strange Adventures on Prince Street had been smashed.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages so they don’t have details on whether or not anything was stolen or suspect descriptions.
No suspects have been located in any of the cases.
