Environment Canada is out with a special air quality statement for the Halifax area along with the rest of Nova Scotia.
The national weather forecaster says smoke from forest fires in Western Canada may impact air quality.
The smoke is expected to spread over the province Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.
Some of the smoke may approach the ground level and reduce air quality.
Associated haze will likely give the sun a reddish appearance.
