RCMP have charged two people after they say construction workers were threatened by a man carrying a saw in Annapolis County.
Police were called to Lily Lake Road in Victoria Vale just before 9 a.m. last Thursday.
Construction workers were mulching trees in the area when the man came up to them and used the saw to damage their equipment.
The Mounties say the man resisted arrest and assaulted an officer before running off. He was eventually taken into custody.
They add a woman tried to intervene during the arrest by pulling a knife and spitting in the officer’s face. A taser was used to try and stop her, but she managed to escape.
Police were able to catch up to her and placed her in handcuffs.
Both have been charged with the following offences:
- Assaulting a Police Officer
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
The man has also been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and mischief under $5,000.
The woman is facing additional charges of theft under $5,000 and a second count of resisting arrest.
They’ve since been released on conditions and are set to appear in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court at a later date.
