The Premier Designate said he’s taking an honest approach to the problems that need fixing in our province.
Tory Leader Tim Houston spoke to reporters in Pictou Wednesday morning.
Houston renewed his promises on healthcare.
“It is bad, it is going to take money, the neglect has to be, we have to change course in healthcare,” he said. “We’re going to run deficits, long way of saying I’m not looking to cut any other services to fund this.”
He said their plan is to run deficits for the next six years before returning to a balanced budget.
Houston said the problems in our province have been ignored for too long.
“These bills that we’re paying are already sitting on the table,” he said. “We’re just saying to Nova Scotians, ‘you can have confidence that we, as a PC party, as a new PC government, have the courage to pick them up and deal with them.’”
Houston also committed to set the date of the next provincial election soon.
