The province’s top court has dismissed a man’s appeal to keep his personalized license plate.
Lorne Grabher sued the province when the Registrar of Motor Vehicles revoked his “GRABHER” plate because it might be misinterpreted as “a socially unacceptable slogan.”
The appeal judge upheld the lower court’s ruling, that the plate doesn’t fall under freedom of expression and could be interpreted as promoting sexualized violence.
