Public Health is advising of a potential exposure to COVID-19 at several locations in the Halifax area and on two Air Canada flights.
Anyone who worked at or visited the following locations on the specified dates and times should book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms.
You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access, or if you have other symptoms that concern you.
Low Risk Exposures:
For the following locations, if you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not need to self-isolate while you wait for your test result. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you are required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.
- Walmart (6990 Mumford Rd., Halifax) on August 23 between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 6.
- No Frills (16 Dentith Rd., Spryfield) on August 25 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 8.
- Flynns Diary Bar (1365 Hollis St., Halifax) on August 25 between 1:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 8.
Moderate Risk Exposures:
Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, those present at the following locations on the named dates and times for at least 15 minutes are required to follow the self-isolation instructions noted in this table for a moderate risk exposure, based on your vaccination status.
COVID-19 testing is also recommended and if you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next.
- Mic Mac Bar & Grill (219 Waverley Rd., Dartmouth) on August 24 between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 7.
- Bearly’s House of Blues & Ribs (1269 Barrington St., Halifax) on August 26 between 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 9.
- Cheachie’s Mexican Grill (102 Chain Lake Dr., Halifax) on August 27 between 4:20 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 10.
High Risk Exposures:
Anyone who was on the following flights in the specified rows and seats are required to follow the isolation and testing instructions in this table as a high risk contact.
- Air Canada 618 travelling on August 26 from Toronto (8:55 p.m.) to Halifax (11:56 p.m.). Passengers in rows 23-29, seats A, B, C and D. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 9.
- Air Canada 612 travelling on August 22 from Toronto (4:50 p.m.) to Halifax (7:51 p.m.). Passengers in rows 30-36, seats C, D, E and F. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 5.
