
Memorial for family killed in camper fire in Amherst
Mounties are investigating a fire that killed a family of six people, including four children, in Cumberland County.
The fire broke out in a camper in Millvale on Sunday evening. It’s a remote area of the county.

The people killed were all from Amherst and include a 30-year-old-man, a 28-year-old woman.
The four children were 3, 4, 8 and 11 years old.
The Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education confirmed on Twitter three of the children attended Cumberland North School.
“We are saddened by the news of the tragic passing of three of our students. We send our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and community impacted by this tragedy.”
“School psychologists, as well as the Student Services Consultant and school counselor will be onsite at the school to provide any needed support for our school community.”
Police say the fire is not suspicious but no other details are known.
