Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is making his final pitch to voters in Nova Scotia by highlighting the party’s health care promises.
During a campaign stop at the Discovery Centre in Halifax on Wednesday, Trudeau provided a recap of their plan to hire more doctors and to get rid of waitlists.
He compared the Liberal pledge to the Conservative plan, saying they’ll spend more money on healthcare.
“We’re spending more in the first year on eliminating the backlog than they’re spending entirely over the first five years on everything from transfers to mental health,” Trudeau says.
Trudeau adds he knows how important the issue is to Nova Scotians as Tory Premier Tim Houston has also made it his prime concern.
“Premier Houston has said many times here in Nova Scotia, health care is a priority for Atlantic Canadians,” Trudeau says. “And we will be there.”
Recent polls show the Liberals are in tight races in several ridings.
