It’s time to “grow up.”
That’s the message delivered by our premier after a protest took place outside the home of Nova Scotia’s top doctor on Friday.
Tory Tim Houston took to social media to tell those protesting proof-of-vaccination policies at Dr. Robert Strang’s home to take it elsewhere.
“You can choose to be unhappy with government decisions, that’s you’re right,” Houston says. “You can choose to vocalize your discontent with government decisions, that’s your right. But taking to the personal residence of the man giving public health advice to the government is completely unacceptable. Dr. Strang deserves not to be harassed, yelled at, or scared to be in his own home.”
Houston says protests need to happen at places like the Legislature or outside his downtown office.

He also criticized the rallies held outside hospitals last week by the group called “Canadian Frontline Nurses.” Members are opposed to mandatory vaccinations for health care workers and government measures related to the pandemic. The group claims to represent the nurses of Canada but were recently condemned by the Canadian Nurses Association.
“His home, our hospitals, are not the place for political protests,” Houston says. “You’re more than welcome in front of the legislature or in front of my office. But I would encourage you all to grow up and think of others.”
Starting on October 4th, we’ll have to show proof of vaccination at many places in Nova Scotia like bars, restaurants, theatres, and gyms.
