Cole Harbour’s Nathan MacKinnon has tested positive for COVID-19.
The former Halifax Mooseheads star will miss the Colorado Avalanche’s opener tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Nathan is asymptomatic and it’s still undetermined whether he will be missing their second game of the season on Saturday.
He entered NHL COVID-19 protocol on Tuesday and did not practice with the team.
Nate won’t be the only notable absence for Colorado tonight as Avs head coach Jared Bednar also tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Avalanche are a Stanley Cup favourite to win it all this season.
