Tim Houston: from Facebook
The premier says he’s concerned over the continued community spread of COVID-19 in Halifax.
Houston says the transmission is mainly among the unvaccinated.
“It’s really simple, if COVID is in our communities, it’s in our schools,” Houston says. “The best thing that every Nova Scotian can do to help is to get vaccinated.”
Houston says there are clusters around the Metro area, although it’s not wide spread.
Three schools have been shut down for a week due to transmission of the virus, including Joseph Howe Elementary, École Mer et Monde, and Dartmouth South.
Houston reminds Nova Scotians we’re still in the 4th wave and should continue to follow public health’s guidance to keep everyone safe.
“While we’re in this 4th wave act like COVID is around you and continue to take the precautions that you’ve been asked to take by public health,” Houston says. “We need to keep our friends, our family, our neighbors, and our communities safe from this virus, and we can do that by working together.”
