The Province’s digital vaccination verification that we have been hearing SO MUCH ABOUT finally launches on October 22 – that’s this Friday!!
So… what does this mean for YOU?
Mostly…nothing. What YOU have to do remains the same:
Your Proof of Vaccination (POV) receipt from the Government, as of October 1st, includes a QR code. IF your POV does not include this code, likely because you downloaded your proof before Oct 1st, just go back into the email to re-download your POV and it will include the QR code.
But when you go to the venues and organizations who downloaded the FREE VaxCheckNS app Apple and Google Play stores, your journey of getting in will be much easier than it is now. Simply show them your QR code, along with appropriate ID, and they will use the APP to scan it. They will get a green “confirmed” screen or a red “sorry” screen:
This process should make things easier for everyone.
Plus, how Canadian is it that the red screen says “sorry”?! 😂
