On Melody & Forman this morning, we discovered that you (like us!) are iffy at best when it comes to how to use a lot of today’s most popular slang words.
It’s okay if you didn’t know what Cheugy was like Forman, or you didn’t know what a Trap House was like Melody.
BUT FEAR NOT: We have compiled the complete list of current popular slang and what it means so NONE OF US ever have feel like this again:
So what are the most popular slang words tossed around these days?
GHOSTED: to basically stop talking to someone altogether out of nowhere.
“Things were going great and then the d-bag ghosted me”
SALTY: being very bitter or angry
“Forman is salty that he cannot grow a beard like Melody’s husband”
GOAT: an acronym for greatest of all time
“Taylor Swift truly is the GOAT”
BAE: a term for significant other
“Bae will pick me up later”
(side note: please stop using this one, its annoying)
ON FLEEK: very good
“my eyebrows are on fleek today”
RONA: coronavirus
“We’re on what feels like year 60 of the Rona”
EXTRA: over the top
“Melody is so extra about The Bachelor”
THIRSTY: needing approval or attention
“He’s so thirsty, he flirts with every girl”
And what slang did we learn from Hot Country listeners?
YEET: to throw something
“She yeeted the can into the crowd”
TWERKING: a style of dancing
“Melody does not have the coordination to even attempt twerking”
(Side note: shout out to Susan G who thought twerking was tweeting at work)
TRAP HOUSE: A place where illegal drugs are sold
“She was selling drugs at a trap house”
BUSSIN: something is REALLY good
“Melody’s dinner last night was bussin”
(narrator: her cooking, in fact, is never bussin)
CAP: lie
“That dude is a straight up capper”
CHEUGY: Not quite basic, and not quite uncool, just slightly out of touch and trying too hard
“The coast thinks taking pictures at Luckett’s Vineyard is cheugy”
So there you have it!!! Now we’re all in with the cool kids!
