More families than usual have asked the Salvation Army for help this Christmas.
Captain Samuel Tim, Community and Family Services Director for Halifax, said it’s been two rough years of COVID-19.
Tim said they don’t have enough toys for kids between 8 and 12.
“We always struggle, every year, to get toys for the older groups, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,” he said. “We are a bit down.”
Tim said the Salvation Army gave out over 12,000 toys to families in need last year.
You can help by dropping off an unwrapped toy at community partners across the province until Saturday.
