Several schools are reopening now that power has been restored to many in the Halifax area.
The Halifax Regional Centre for Education has amended its list of closures. Here are the details:
Power has been restored to the following schools and they will reopen for the day:
- Bicentennial School
- Crichton Park Elementary
- Dartmouth South Academy (including the Pre-Primary Program in the Southdale building)
- Grosvenor-Wentworth Park Elementary
- Hawthorn Elementary
Schools that remain closed include Alderney Elementary, Dartmouth High, Graham Creighton Junior High, Humber Park Elementary, and Park West School.
The Kingswood Pre-Primary program on Kearney Lake Road remains cancelled.
Meantime, Nova Scotia Community College has called off the delayed start at its Ivany Campus and Aviation Institute.
Now that power has been restored, they’ll open at 8:30 a.m.

Meantime, Nova Scotia Community College will be delaying the start of class at its Ivany Campus.
It says the school is closed until 10 a.m.
Officials will reassess at 9:30 a.m.
