Digby RCMP have charged a woman after an investigation discovered she stole $50,000 in a large theft involving lottery tickets from her workplace.
Police say on September 21 they received a complaint that an employee of a store in Brighton was cashing out lottery tickets without paying for them.
After investigating police determined the total theft, which includes the winnings paid out and the cost of the tickets themselves, was over $50,000.
Thirty year-old Katherine Foote, of Marshalltown, is facing charges of Theft over $5,000 and Fraud over $5,000. She’s set to appear in Digby Provincial Court on Monday.
