The lead singer of the 1960s hit-making group The Ronettes has died.
Ronnie Spector passed away on Wednesday at the age of 78.
Her family says she died in the arms of her husband after a brief battle with cancer.
“Ronnie lived her life with a twinkle in her eye, a spunky attitude, a wicked sense of humor and a smile on her face,” the statement says. “She was filled with love and gratitude.”
In lieu of flowers, Spector has requested donations be made to your local women’s shelter or to the American Indian College Fund.
The pop star found fame with the hits Be My Baby, Baby I Love You, and Walking in the Rain.
