Students are heading back to class for in-person learning on Monday for the first time since December.
The extended holiday break began on December 17th with virtual learning kicking off last week.
While kids learned from home for one week, the province worked to secure three-ply medical masks, rapid tests, and to make ventilation upgrades.
Education Minister Becky Druhan says they’re confident the return to in-person learning is the best option for kids.
Druhan adds officials have been working to improve ventilation and 70 schools have new HEPA air filters.
“They should all be in schools now,” she says. “They’ll all be installed and ready to go for Monday.”
Premier Tim Houston has said on several occasions some students rely on school for warmth, safety, and food.
