The province is going back to the table with privately owned daycares as they face a looming deadline to transition to a publicly funded system.
A group representing nearly some daycare centres says the government has lifted a March 18 deadline to chose a way forward.
Bonnie Minard of the Private License Administrators Association for Childcare confirmed the change in direction on an exclusive interview with Huddle Today.
Operators were given three options as part of the move to $10 per day child care.
They included a payout and any centre that opted out would lose government subsidies.
The ultimatum faced sharp criticism from entrepreneurs who operate daycares.
