UPDATE: 7:30 am on January 21st.
Police say the situation on Lake Banook in Dartmouth has been resolved without incident.
Halifax Regional Police issued a release shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday to say they were helping someone on the frozen lake.
Halifax Fire adds they were called to the scene to assist and medical care was provided to the individual by EHS because of the cold temperatures.
With the windchill, it was feeling like minus 19 during the ice rescue.
Police asked drivers and pedestrians to use caution when passing through the area.
“HRP would like to thank the public for their patience while dealing with this incident,” the police force says in a statement.
