Bacterial and chemical water testing at the QEII lab is being further suspended according to the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
In a release today, NSHA says the temporary pause in testing is necessary to create capacity for Covid-19 testing.
Municipal, registered, and private water supply owners are advised to send samples to an alternate accredited water testing facility.
Since the QEII lab is the central site for chemical water testing in Nova Scotia, this means chemical and bacterial water testing is not available in most of the province at present.
The exception is at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital where bacterial testing is still being done.
NSHA says they will reassess the week of February 21.
