Both the Nova Scotia NDP and Liberals have announced their plans to choose new leaders for the province.
The NDP says voting will take place to replace Gary Burrill on June 20th after he announced he was stepping down in November.
Burrill will stay on as MLA for Halifax Chebucto.
Candidates will need to pay a $5,000 entry fee and submit registration papers with the signatures of 50 party members.
Meantime, the Liberals’ leadership convention will take place on July 9th with a $25,000 candidate registration fee.
The election will happen through e-voting and by phone due to COVID-19.
Current leader Iain Rankin announced his resignation earlier this month. Rankin will stay on as the MLA for Timberlea-Prospect.
