Rural entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia are will have a chance to get support and resources to build their businesses.
Applications are now open for IGNITE Atlantic’s Amplify accelerator program. They’re offering a series of 10 virtual on-demand sessions to help with the process of starting and running a business.
Ignite’s CEO Doug Jones discussed the types of applicants they are looking for.
“We’re pretty open, we’re not industry specific. What we’re looking for are really innovative ideas,” says Jones. “Those ideas could be developed around traditional industries like the seafood sector, all the way through to tech companies.”
Ignite is partnering with the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development for the program.
Start-ups and early stage entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply. Selected finalists will have to pitch their business ideas to a panel.
Jones discussed some of what those selected will learn.
“We’ll make sure they have all the bases covered in their business, so customer validation, their marketing plan, their strategy, key partnerships,” says Jones. “And at the same time we surround them with resources inside of Ignite.”
Information on how to apply can be found here. The deadline for applications is February 23.
